The Fair

In partnership with the NGO "Tourisme Sans Frontières - TSF" (Tourism without borders) and sponsored by the Foreign and European Affairs Department, the SITV is pleased to host the 3rd edition of Solidarissimo, dedicated to equitable tourism and economy. It will welcome around fifty exhibitors having different trades: travel agencies and more particularly the ATES network (Association for an equitable tourism and a solidarity economy), and organizations involved in the international cooperation for an equitable trade.

It is a true journey around the world with the presence of African countries such as the Burkina Faso, Guinea, Senegal, Togo, Niger or Nepal and Morocco…
During this event, around forty conferences and round table discussions are organized, photo expos, special events and a tombola with a grand winning prize consisting of a magnificent voyage to be made according to Solidarissimo’s championed values: developing of territories through tourism by supporting the social and economic development of the local populations who live there and, at the same time, by preserving their culture and traditions.

What is an equitable tourism?

Equitable and solidarity tourism is defined by tourism values which put the human being at the heart of the journey and which are a clear indication of a will to develop territories.
The involvement of local populations in the different phases of the project, respecting the human beings, their culture, nature and a more equitable distribution of all resources generated, are the foundation of this type of tourism.
This definition has been put together by a pilot committee made of the UNAT, equitable tourism associations and their partners.

What is a solidarity economy ?

It is a practice which gathers thousands of private initiatives and companies, public or mix companies, to produce, employ, save, finance and make decisions in a non conventional manner. Solidarity companies have to compete on the market, as do the others, so they have to be competitive. They propose and carry out collective services to make living together easier.

The equitable trade and solidarity agriculture want to support small producers of the third world. The cooperative system suggests new distribution modes. The solidarity finance, coming from the mutual insurance system, can also bne found in the microcredit or the micro finance.

Working with “Tourisme Sans Frontières-TSF” (Tourism without borders), Partner organizer of the Solidarissimo fair

TSF is a NGO which objective is to participate in the development of emerging countries by initiating or by supporting integrated tourism actions.

For TSF, an integrated tourism must be above all, a responsible touristic approach under the control of the local populations and which financial earnings as well as other social and cultural consequences should benefit them in the first place. To achieve these objectives, TSF has gathered human, technical and financial resources and has established partnerships with all actors recognized by TSF.

To efficiently back its support to the development of emerging touristic destinations, TSF uses four different tools:

  • The training catalogue
  • The support funds “meso-finance”
  • The marketing tool (Voyages et Passion.com)
  • The promotion tool (Solidarissimo fair)
